Nottingham engagement shoot
How adorable is this Nottingham engagement shoot at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park!
The thought of an engagement session can initially sound intimidating. You’d be surprised how often I hear “I hate being in front of the camera” and being one of those people myself I completely relate to that, but after an engagement shoot I can guarantee it will be that little bit easier, honest!
Here are a few reasons why I think an engagement shoot is a good idea…
You and your photographer have the chance to meet before the wedding
If we haven’t already met over a coffee, a pre-shoot gives us the opportunity to chat about the wedding and get to know each other a little better.
You’ll get to practise before the day and tackle those front of the camera nerves!
I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t sometimes feel little bit awkward for the first five minutes, because let’s be honest it’s not something you do everyday!
Many people tell me they feel a bit silly or unsure how to stand in front of the camera, so whilst my style is mostly candid, when it comes to the couple portraits I will offer some direction. In your pre-shoot we will use the time to figure out what works and what doesn’t, and most importantly we figure out what feels most natural for the two of you – that way I can drop back and just capture you being you!
By the end of the shoot you will feel much more relaxed, so by the time the wedding day arrives you’ll know exactly what to expect.
Location location location!
A pre-shoot gives you the opportunity to have some photographs taken in a location that is different to where the wedding is taking place.
The location is your choice, we can make great photos anywhere from the rolling countryside hills to an urban city backdrop!
Pre-shoots are available in my full day wedding photography packages, details of which can be found on my pricing page.
