Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel Wedding
I had great fun last month with Wahyish and Yagnesh at their Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel wedding.
I started the day with Wahyish and her fabulous hair and make-up dream team before heading over to Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel to catch the groomsman games; a Chinese tradition whereby the groom has to pass a series of tasks set by the bridesmaids before he’s allowed to marry the bride. I must say, the girls really put Yagnesh through his paces, setting challenges that involved yoga moves, balloon body popping and guys in bras (I’ll let you read on to see what I’m talking about!)
The day was a wonderful blend of cultural traditions. The wedding ceremony was set in the quintessentially English 17th century barn at the Farmhouse, followed by a Chinese tea ceremony, and then the exchange of garlands, which was a lovely touch to honour their own personal traditions.
What you may not know about Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel is that you actually eat in pig sties. Don’t worry, they don’t actually keep pigs in there anymore! These converted pig sties make a quirky and unique setting for a wedding breakfast and can be adapted to so many different styles.
Wahyish and Yagnesh kicked the party off with a fabulous balloon drop during their first dance, and the dancefloor was jumping within minutes!
Towards the end of the evening we went outside for a magical sparkler send off, the perfect end to the perfect day!
