Derbyshire Engagement Shoot – Winnats Pass and Mam Tor
I was so excited when I found out Liz and Chris were up for a Derbyshire engagement shoot. Both being big fans of walking, and with Mam Tor being one of their favourite spots, we decided to head out to the high peaks and take advantage of the stunning views.
The golden hour
If you’ve ever been to the Peak District, I’m sure you’ll agree that it really is a beautiful part of the country. I love that you can enjoy it all year round, come rain or shine. I came out here for an engagement shoot back in the winter, and it was a misty, moody and atmospheric day. This time around, it was a balmy summer evening, and the hills were bathed in the most beautiful golden light!
We took a small trek to the top of Mam Tor, and it felt as though we were on the top of the world! After taking some pictures on the summit, we took a wander down to the nearby Winnat’s pass, which is an incredible gorge towered by vibrant green limestone pinnacles. This location really never fails to amaze me, and it made an incredible back drop for the session.
Chris and Liz were an absolute pleasure to photograph, and it was great to get to know them a little better before I capture their big day for them later this year.
